pulse music

This piece takes as inspiration writings on medicine and music from the Medieval period, mostly of Avicenna and Boethius. In particular, it takes as a point of departure the notion that music itself could be almost a material substance that resonates throughout the body cavity, that regulates the human soul and that – sometimes audibly, sometimes inaudibly – manifests itself in the body. I ask all listeners to keep their eyes closed for the duration of the piece, if at all possible. Any bodily sounds heard or felt throughout the listening are to be treated as a part of the composition.

Note: this piece has very quiet and very low frequency sounds. Please listen on good speakers or with good headphones.
